If you’re moving your domain from GoDaddy to a new registrar, there are important steps you must follow. This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

✅ Prerequisites

✔ You must have an active domain registered with GoDaddy.
✔ You need access to your GoDaddy account.
✔ Ensure your domain has been registered for at least 60 days (per ICANN rules).

???? Step 1: Unlock Your Domain Name

1️⃣ Login to GoDaddy

• Go to GoDaddy.com.

• Enter your username and password, then click GO.

2️⃣ Open Domain Manager

• In your dashboard, click Domain Manager (left-hand menu).

• Select the domain you want to transfer.

3️⃣ Disable the Domain Lock

• Click Manage next to “Locked”.

• A pop-up will appear. Uncheck the "Lock" box and click OK.

???? Success! Your domain is now unlocked and ready for transfer.

???? Step 2: Obtain the Authorization Code (EPP Code)

✔ While logged into your GoDaddy account, do the following:
1️⃣ Verify your Contact Information

• Ensure your email and phone number are up to date.

• This is important because GoDaddy will send the EPP code to your email.

2️⃣ Request the EPP Code

• Go to Domain Settings.

• Click Get Authorization Code or Request Transfer Code.

• GoDaddy will send the code via email.

✔ Authorization Code
✔ Transfer Key
✔ Domain Key

???? Step 3: Initiate the Transfer at HostFast

✔ Visit the website of your new domain registrar.
✔ Look for the "Transfer Domain" option.
✔ Enter your domain name and the EPP code from GoDaddy.
✔ Complete any additional verification steps required by your new registrar.

???? Step 4: Approve the Transfer

✔ GoDaddy will send you an email confirmation.
✔ Open the email and approve the transfer.
✔ The transfer process usually takes 5-7 days to complete.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully unlocked your domain and initiated the transfer.
