Getting Started with cPanel: Navigation & Features

cPanel helps you manage your website easily. This guide will walk you through its main features and how to navigate them.

Step 1: Update Your Contact Info

  1. Log in to cPanel. (Need help? See "How to Login to cPanel.")

  2. Go to Preferences > Update Contact Info.

  3. Keep your email up-to-date to receive important notifications from your hosting provider.

Step 2: Customize Your cPanel

  • Change Theme: At the top left, use the Switch Theme dropdown to change how cPanel looks (without affecting functionality).

  • Switch Account: If you manage multiple accounts, use the Switch Account dropdown (top right) to select the one you want to control.

Step 3: View Important Stats

Scroll down the left column to see:
Email & Hosting Limits – How many email accounts you have vs. allowed.
Bandwidth Usage – How much data your site is using.
Server Info – Details like operating system, PHP version, and MySQL version.
Server Status – Click this link to check if your server is working properly (green lights = all good).

Step 4: Explore the Right-Side Functions

On the right, you’ll find icons for key features like:
???? Webmail – Manage your emails.
???? Databases – Set up and manage MySQL databases.
???? Email Accounts & Auto-Responders – Create or manage email addresses.

Step 5: Access cPanel Documentation

???? At the bottom of the page, click Documentation for the complete cPanel manual. It covers everything from basic functions to advanced settings.

Step 6: Rearrange Your Dashboard

You can drag and drop sections to organize your cPanel layout as you prefer.

Final Step: Logout Safely

  • Click Logout (top right) or close your browser.

  • If using a public computer, always log out for security.
