Email authentication helps prevent spam and spoofing by verifying the sender’s identity. This tutorial explains how to enable Domain Keys (DKIM) and Sender Policy Framework (SPF) in cPanel.
Step 1: Log in to cPanel
✔ Visit http://yourdomain.com/cpanel
.
✔ Enter your username and password.
Step 2: Access Email Authentication
✔ Scroll to the Mail section.
✔ Click on Email Authentication.
Step 3: Enable DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail)
✔ Click the Enable button next to DKIM.
✔ A confirmation page will appear.
✔ Click Go Back to verify that DKIM is now enabled.
✅ DKIM ensures incoming mail is checked against the server it was sent from, verifying it hasn’t been modified.
Step 4: Enable SPF (Sender Policy Framework)
✔ Click the Enable button next to SPF.
✔ A confirmation page will show your SPF record.
✔ Click Go Back to verify that SPF is now enabled.
✅ SPF allows only authorized mail servers to send emails on behalf of your domain, preventing email spoofing.
Step 5: Configure Advanced SPF Settings (Optional)
✔ Under Advanced Settings, you can:
✔ Add A Records and MX Records.
✔ Allow additional IP addresses and hosts to send emails.
Step 6: Exit Securely
✔ Click Home to return to the cPanel dashboard.
✔ Logout if using a public computer.
